How To Convert Heater Hose To -10AN

How To Convert Heater Hose To -10AN

Say Goodbye to Rubber Heater Hose.

AutoPlumb offers the following methods to convert your existing heater core tubing to AN. All products are available at the bottom of each method.

Method 1:

To Convert From Existing Heater Core Tubes That Exit The Firewall to AN

1. If you are converting your existing barbed heater core tubes exiting the firewall, use our Barb to -10AN Adapters.

Accurately measure the tubes (not the barb)

Select from the menu either 3/4" or 5/8" depending on the OD of your existing tubes.

To Convert The Manifold, Water Pump, etc. of Chevy and Ford Engines

1. Use our NPT to -10AN Adapters

It is recommended to use a straight NPT to -10AN Adapter, then attach your hose using your preferred angle -10AN Hose end.

To Convert The Hose Barbs of a LS Pump to AN

Option 1: Using our Barb to -10AN Adapters.

Accurately measure the tubes (not the barb)

Select from the products either 3/4" or 5/8" depending on the OD of your existing tubes.

Option 2: Using our NPT to -10AN Adapters

Remove the barbed tubes by twisting, turning, and prying them out of the pump. They are pressed in so they will come out. Do this with caution to avoid damaging your pump.

The holes can be tapped 3/8" NPT and 1/2" NPT without the need to drill them. Have an NPT to -10AN Adapter on hand to determine the depth of the tap. Do not tap too deep.

Select from the products (1) 3/8" NPT to -10AN and (1) 1/2" NPT to -10AN

Connecting With Hose Ends

Each line will require (2) -10AN Full Flow Hose Ends. Select which angles will work best for your system.

Measure the distance between the fittings at the firewall and at the engine to determine your length of -10AN Braided Hose.

Method 2:

To Connect Heater Core Tubes To 5/8" Barb On The Back of Our -10AN Firewall Bulkhead

IMPORTANT: The bulkhead inserts use a 5/8" Barb to A/C-style O-ring port. To convert each A/C port to -10AN on the engine side, you must use A/C O-Ring to AN adapters.
